What is Prediabetes?
Prediabetes is when your blood sugar level is higher than normal, but not yet high enough to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. Prediabetes increases your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. If you have prediabetes, the long-term damage of diabetes may already be starting. Some risk factors for prediabetes include family history, physical inactivity, poor dietary patterns, and excess fat.

What is Type 2 Diabetes?
Type 2 diabetes means the body cannot use insulin properly. It can develop at any age and most cases can be prevented. Currently, at least 1 out of 3 people will develop the disease in their lifetime. Risk factors for type 2 diabetes includes being overweight, having family history, and having diabetes while pregnant (gestational diabetes).
