Welcome to Operation Samahan's National Diabetes Prevention Program!
Operation Samahan's National Diabetes Prevention Program (OSNDPP) is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) network of public and private organizations working together to fight the growing problem of prediabetes and diabetes through evidence-based, cost effective interventions. We are one of only a select few organizations delivering this program for our San Diego community.
Research shows structured lifestyle interventions can cut the risk of type 2 diabetes in HALF (CDC, 2014) |
What is the National Diabetes Prevention Program?
The National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) is a lifestyle modification intervention working to prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes in individuals diagnosed with prediabetes or at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes. This is accomplished by holding intimate group classes with a CDC-approved curriculum taught by a trained lifestyle coach.
